The bulk of the material is comprised of documentsrelating to Cochran's professional activities, including: his various posts inthe U.S. Foreign Service (1914-1953), his role as deputy managing director ofthe International Monetary Fund (1953-1962), and his service as chairman of theOrganisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (O.E.C.D.) Consortiumfor Greece. Also included in the collection are photographs, mostly depictingofficial travel and social activities from the span of Cochran'scareer.
